Birthday Weekend 33 Pt. 1

I think it's safe to say my 33rd Birthday was my favorite thus far although my 32nd birthday borderline takes the cake with our Flamingo Island Trip to Aruba. I will definitely do a full post about that marvelous trip as well that is much overdue. Needless to say, my 33rd birthday was incredible. Despite growing up on Long Island, I never had the privilege of enduring an overnight stay at the famous Gurney's Resort in Montauk, NY. Rob and I only went for dinner last June for our 6 Year Wedding Anniversary. Both visits there were incredible, but I undoubtedly loved staying overnight. The long weekend started out with a reservation at the infamous Wölffer Estate Vineyard where I am a wine club member. I enjoy being a member because I get to make monthly visits to the vineyard in and off season and each time spent there is lovely. We both had a tasting of 4 pours and then I ordered a second tasting that I couldn't finish LOL. To eat and snack on,we ordered their Greek spread and a Meat and Cheese Platter with fabulous meat and cheeses that all paired very well with the wine. I was very blessed to have the most beautiful 3 days of the 2024 year with unseasonable warm weather which allowed us to go outside and enjoy the incredible climate. Once we finished, we continued our voyage to "The End" of the East End. To say I was overly excited is an understatement, we arrived at Gurney's and were greeted by the kindest staff at the front desk and quickly went to our beautifully updated room that had panoramic views of the gleaming Atlantic Ocean. Shortly after, we changed and made our way to the Seawater Spa which I highly recommend to anyone. You get to finish your Spa Experience in a fully windowed Montauk beach and ocean view in a pool that contains the native ocean water. Once we wrapped up and changed, we had the pleasure of enjoying waterfront drinks on the ocean front patio that is immersed in fireplaces and heat lamps (again the unseasonable temperatures were on our side). Once we wrapped up our drinks, we went to the room where we relaxed for a bit and got ready for dinner. They had the coziest robes and slippers that I thoroughly enjoyed lounging and getting ready in. Needless to say, dinner time approached us quicker than I would've liked it to since it was truly the perfect day, and I never wanted it to end. We had the most INCREDIBLE dinner at the resort's restaurant, Scarpetta Beach. I had the Italian Margarita; Rob had the Old Fashioned (both incredible). To start, we had the Scallops which were hands down the most delicious scallops we ever tasted. I had the NY Strip which was huge, and I could only finish 1/3 of which was served with delicious brussels sprouts (my favorite vegetable) cipollini onions and mushrooms. Rob had a delightful duck entree which did not disappoint Finally, we finished with their chocolate cake and Italian cheesecake they were so sweet and acknowledged my birthday with singing and a candle on my cake. Next, we enjoyed post dinner drinks at their beautiful bar where we had our nightcaps of an Espresso Martini for me and another Old Fashioned for Rob. It was truly the perfect night. Sadly, the following morning to leave came quicker than I wanted but we had a fabulous morning. I started it with a fantastic Pilates Fusion class with Kat who is the fitness director which I thoroughly enjoyed. Rob enjoyed reading a complimentary newspaper and coffee on our rooms deck. I was truly sad when we left but it gives us something to look forward to for our next trip. Questions, comments?
